Installing GraphPad InStat Extension 14
To use GraphPad InStat Extension 14, you need to have both GraphPad InStat 3.1a and Microsoft Excel installed on your computer. You also need a valid serial number and network code for InStat, which you can find on your registration confirmation email or on the GraphPad website.
To install GraphPad InStat Extension 14, follow these steps:
Download the file InStat31aUpdater.dmg from the GraphPad website[^3^]. This file will update InStat 3.0a or 3.0b to 3.1a.
Run the updater and follow the instructions on the screen. You will need to enter your serial number and network code when prompted.
Launch Excel and go to the Add-ins tab. You should see a button labeled InStat. If not, go to File > Options > Add-ins and make sure that InStat.xla is checked in the list of active add-ins.
Click on the InStat button to launch GraphPad InStat Extension 14. You will see a welcome screen with some options to start a new analysis, open an existing analysis, or learn more about InStat.
Using GraphPad InStat Extension 14 for Data Analysis
To use GraphPad InStat Extension 14 for data analysis, follow these steps:
Select the data you want to analyze in Excel. You can select a single range of cells or multiple ranges of cells by holding down the Ctrl key while selecting. Make sure that each range has a label in the first row or column.
Click on the InStat button and choose New Analysis. You will see a dialog box where you can choose a statistical test based on your experimental design and question. If you are not sure which test to choose, click on the Help me choose button for guidance.
After choosing a test, click on OK. You will see another dialog box where you can enter or modify the data for the analysis. You can also change the options for the test, such as confidence interval, significance level, or post tests.
Click on Analyze. You will see a results window with a summary of the analysis, including test statistics, p-values, confidence intervals, and graphs. You can also view more details by clicking on the tabs at the bottom of the window.
To export the results to Excel, click on the Export button and choose what you want to export: summary table, detailed table, graph data, or graph image. You can also export the results to Prism by clicking on the Create Prism File button.
To save your analysis for future reference, click on the Save button and choose a location and name for your file. The file will have an extension of .ist.
